Despite decades of economic growth, many sectors of the rice production industry in Cambodia remain vulnerable to climate change events, and farmers do not have access to knowledge of modern rice production and processing techniques. GAFSP and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) are supporting the Government of Cambodia to implement a project that increases access to finance, equipment, and infrastructure that improves rice seed quality, yields, post-harvest technology, and export potential.
As the country diversifies its economy and the demand for agricultural land, as well as urban centers and industries, grows. the project has also supported the Commune Land Use Planning (CLUP) initiative in three rice-growing provinces to strengthen development planning in communes.
